Dear Loudmouth
To the guy a couple of cubicles over who talks very very loudly on the phone:
- I know you're not happy, but that language isn't appreciated in a professional situation. You lose respect when you spout profanity at the top of your lungs.
- Think about what you are saying before you say it. Understand that everyone in this wing of the building can hear it. Clearly.
- Point #2 is especially valid when talking about financial things. Now I know that I make more money than you do, but your team members might be upset to know that. How do I know? Because they started talking to each other when you went to lunch--wondering why you make more than they do.
- Using a company-provided phone during regular business hours to work your side real estate business is just wrong.
- A little bit of tact goes a long way. Try it. You might like it.
- Weekday names are pronounced Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc. NOT Mun-dee, Tues-dee, Wends-dee... (Yes, I'm nit-picking, but I'm going for a longer blog entry.)
Thank you,
Mr. Me

Ugh-ness. Not sure if this guy is still around two months later, but seriously, a lot of those things could get him fired at my place of employment. (My boss recently made no beans about letting us know that discussing our salaries with each other was a BIG no-no)
